The First Alert intrusion alarm ranges from six zone residential system to small business, or a system that would expand to accommodate the largest office warehouse complex. Each system can be configured with an assortment of devices that would not only detect intrusion but detect fire, smoke, carbon monoxide gases, water, temperature changes in areas such as a commercial freezer or a computer room, and can also report signals from a surveillance device. In addition, there are wireless devices such as 1- 4 button wireless keyfob remotes that can be used as medical alert buttons, silent or audible panics, or they can be used to arm and disarm your system from outside your home.

First Alert systems have the ability to send signals to the monitoring center, cellular phones, or a laptop via a POTS line, radio/cellular back up unit, or high-speed internet service. There are also configurations to allow video clips to be sent to the monitoring station, your cell phone, or laptop via high-speed internet.

First Alert also has several keypads available that will allow you to arm and disarm the system, check the status of your system, leave messages for other members of your family, show a family slide show of photos, voice announce system status, and also have touch screenkeypads.
